Our Story

Once upon a time, in the beautiful city of Iringa, Tanzania, there lived a family that shared a deep love and passion for wildlife. They would often embark on family trips to various national parks and reserves throughout Tanzania, where they would immerse themselves in the beauty of the natural world around them. As they explored more of the country's stunning landscapes and wildlife, they began to dream of sharing these experiences with others. It was then that the idea for Oxpecker Tours was born.

The family was fascinated by the unique relationship between oxpeckers and large mammals, such as buffalo and rhinos. They admired how these small birds would perch on the backs of these animals, picking off ticks and other parasites, and in turn, helping to keep them healthy. The oxpeckers became a symbol of the interconnectedness of all life and the importance of preserving and protecting the natural world.

With this inspiration in mind, the family founded Oxpecker Tours, a company that offered personalized and unique wildlife experiences throughout Tanzania. Their goal was to provide visitors with the opportunity to not only witness the incredible beauty of Tanzania's wildlife, but also to learn about the importance of conservation and sustainable tourism.

As a family-run business, Oxpecker Tours was committed to providing a warm and welcoming experience to all of their guests. They carefully crafted each itinerary, ensuring that visitors would have a chance to see a variety of wildlife in their natural habitats while also experiencing the local culture and traditions of Tanzania.

With their passion for wildlife and dedication to sustainable tourism, Oxpecker Tours quickly became a leading tour operator in Tanzania. They welcomed visitors from all over the world, sharing with them the magic and wonder of Tanzania's wild places, and helping to support the local communities and conservation efforts.

And so, the family's dream of sharing their love for wildlife with others had become a reality, thanks to Oxpecker Tours. They continued to grow and expand their offerings, always with a deep commitment to preserving and protecting the natural world for generations to come. Today, Oxpecker Tours remains a family-owned business that has built a reputation for providing exceptional wildlife experiences in Tanzania.
